Production Figure - 20 cars

2003 GT3 RS

very similar to the previous 2002 model car. It came out of the box running.

The car pictured above won the 2003 Daytona 24 Hours overall. Pictures are from the race.

Driven by:

Schrom/Buckler/Bergmeister/Bernhard

2003 GT3 RS door

the most visable change to the car was this one piece door, the windowframe, and door were incorporated into one. Similar to the 993 GT2 Evo door.

2003 GT3 RS engine

very familiar GT3R. the addition of a light weight cooling system was adapted to the 3.6 L. An alternator change, water system attached to the engine was also modifed. Air cleaner was mounted in the decklid/tail from this point forward.

2003 GT3 RS frontal area

As the GT3 R as matured so have the details, actual ducting for the center radiator, is apparent. Also note the front bumper mounts made from metal, as the earlier cars were supplied with modified 996 street plastic brackets.
